>> lynette you are watching this and seeing the blob coming up from the south. >> exactly. and this is the energy maker and the thing that makes the storm combining with another one. i will show you in a second. but as you step out, maryland's most powerful radar is picking up on heavy rain and moderate rain and it's all over the place and sleet and freezing rain and snow across the area this morning. so you need to take it easy as you step out and about. now, we are going to be dealing with change in the forecast. but at the surface, these are the two systems i am talking b so this is the one that is plaguing us this morning. it's in here and we will see this one towards the west move east and will face together this afternoon. once that does, we will have that area of low pressure really start to bomb out or strengthen as it moves towards the north and east. once it get past us, by the time the moisture gets together, we won't be in the heaviest stuff and that's why the target is new england where they will see two feet of snow locally even more than that. but here back at home, on the
5:51am
backside, yes, we are going to be getting our measurable snow as well. as we look at abc2's most accurate future trend we will pick up on the timing coming in with the snow. we are thinking around 7 this evening so we have a mess of a commute this morning with that within theory mix switching to rain going -- wintery mix switching to rain going into the afternoon. by the evening snow across the area lingering into tomorrow morning and gets out of all sa done this is what we can expect. we are going to be seeing snow totals maybe about 2 to 4 inches in northeast the frgt to the north and east you g so we are talking about harford and cecil county and around baltimore, 2 to 3 inches is a possibility and the further to the south you go maybe 1 inch but again we are talking about that rain snow line. maryland is always on the rain snow line. so depending on where it is further to the north that is where we are going to be dealing with the heavier snowfall totals and if it comes further south, maybe 3 or 4 we
5:52am
will keep our eyes pinned on that. but for today, this is what we expect. again rain by 3:00 and then it switches all over to snow as we go into friday. don't forget the wendy conditions. we will have wind gusts up to 40. let's check the abc2 timesaver traffic with lauren cook good morning. >> reporter: good morning. we are dealing with a wintery mix in frederick. if you are heading out to interstate 70, you want to be extra careful. there are going to be slick conditions. and as lynette mentioned, we are dealing with changes. so this rain that we are dealing with across the region will likely change overto snow. this is the beltway in pikesville many no delays what over and east side will be nice and clear from parkville all the way up to towson. and heading downtown, you are looking at an 11-minute ride on the jfx from the beltway downtown to east fayette street and everything is up to speed through the fort mchenry tunnel 8 minutes on the northbound lanes of 95 from the beltway all the way to the toll plaza. that's a look at your abc2 timesaver traffic. now over to you dogs in
